This is Jasmine.
Jas is a boy cat, despite his rather feminine name (apparently his previous owner's favorite flower). He is about nine years old. He is part Siamese. He likes a lot of attention.
This is Sombra.
Can't see him? Sombra has been living up to his name, which means "shadow," by hiding in the shadows ever since he got here last Saturday night. Some internet research informs me that this is entirely normal. Apparently, it's remarkable how readily Jas has adapted to his new environment, and most cats behave more like Sombra when they move to a new home.
These two previously belonged to the family of ASC's minister (AKA my boss), but they had to give them up when one of her daughters developed allergies and asthma. Since we wanted to adopt some cats anyway, it worked out well for everyone.
I like cats, we had three when I was growing up, but I don't have terribly much to say about them. They're nice to have around. I need to somehow train Jas not to step on my hair while I'm trying to sleep. I hope Sombra isn't too traumatized and is eating and using the litter box (I can't tell if they both are or only one.) Um... that's about it. So there's probably no danger of this becoming a blog all about my cats.
Next week: something about what I'm knitting. Or my job(s). Or, let's face it, whatever I feel like at the moment I decide to blog.
Hi Alison,

a house is not a home without kitties:-)
