I have two new patterns to offer for sale, and those of you who read the blog get first crack at them! (This is partly to reward my readers... and also because I'm still learning how to update my own website, and in the meantime am at the mercy of my husband / web designer's ridiculous schedule.)
The Hesperia Stole is knit lengthwise, with an edging that
is attached as you knit it, after knitting the main section. The pattern includes both charted and
line-by-line instructions.
Yarn: 1100 yards lace weight yarn. Sample used 1 skein of Skacel Merino Lace (100% Merino Wool; 1375 yds / 1257 m per 3.53 oz / 100 g skein) in #669 Blue.
Needles & Notions: Size 3 (3.25mm) needles, spare needle, size 3 (3.25mm) or smaller – circular works best; small amount of waste yarn for provisional cast on – for best results, use a smooth cotton; crochet hook for provisional cast on
The other pattern is Rapunzel. This is a sweater that I knit for myself last year, and I'm so glad I'm finally able to offer the pattern. It's probably my favorite thing that I've ever designed.
Rapunzel is a raglan pullover with elegant cable edgings, which are knit lengthwise, with stitches picked up for the front, back and sleeves. Pattern includes both charts and line-by-line instructions
Finished Bust Measurements: 31 (34, 36, 39, 42, 45, 48, 51)” / 79 (86.5, 91.5, 99, 106.5, 114.5, 122, 129.5) cm
Gauge: 24 sts and 34 rows = 4” over St st.
Note on gauge: Sweater was knit tighter than the yarn’s recommended gauge so that the cables “pop” more. For best results, choose a yarn with a recommended gauge of 5 sts per 1”, or one that gives you a pleasing fabric in both St st at the gauge stated above and over the cable charts.

$7.
Oooh! I love Rapunzel, but the neckline is not a good one for me. I know how I want to modify it, I think. Can I run the idea by you and you can tell me if you think it would work?

Hesperia is lovely!

Is this gauge really correct? That's a lot of stitches in 1" for Tahki cotton.....if so, I'm afraid I'll have to knit so tight my hands will break! Gauge: 24 sts and 34 rows = 1” over St st.

yes - the recommended gauge for Cotton Classic produces a fairly loose fabric, which I didn't like for the cables. But you could substitute a yarn with a recommended gauge of 6 spi.

Hi Allison, I'm new to your blog, but love your designs. Nice work, beautiful photography.

Oh my... you should get Cheryl to model everything; she's a natural!
And Hesperia is STUNNING. The edging complements the body very nicely, I think. :-)

What a pity you don't accept paypal. I would purchase the Hesperia pattern but have no credit card as yet.
